Face Cord

One row of logs, stacked to the length of the split (typically 16–18"). Roughly a third of a full cord — a good starter order or top-off.

Half Cord

Half the volume of a full cord — 64 cubic feet stacked. A common choice for a typical Minnesota winter with a fireplace or stove.

What's a "cord," really? It's a stacked measure, not a guess — a full cord is any stack of split wood that totals 128 cubic feet (commonly 4' high × 4' deep × 8' long). Half cords and face cords are fractions of that same stack, so you're always paying for what you can measure.
